Development of Candle Powered rotating relic display system
Planetary Gear design makes the Relic Rotisserie display system very unique.
I love finding relics. I also love inventing and messing around with all things mechanical. A gear head at heart, it never ceases to amaze me what you can do with gear train design. Here I apply the old tried and true fundamentals of planetary gear set design principles to rotate multiple relics in a unique display system.

Relic Rotisserie Conceptualizing and prototyping
Do you have one of those super special finds from metal detecting? You know the ones you can look at and remember the day, date and time you plucked it from the hole? I have many good finds, but a few that are really special to me. I wanted to design a super special system for displaying those super special finds.
Here is the first video showing the concept, some of the 3d printed parts and testing of the gear motor. Please leave your comments and suggestions and stay tuned as the Relic Rotisserie is developed along.

I am on a Kinetic kick!
Accurate 3d solid modeling of civil war bullets allows exacting analysis of gravitational balance characteristics of those projectiles.
Once that data is know, I thought it would be interesting to design and 3d print some kinetic bullet display stands that would be perfectly balanced so that the bullet appeared to float or bob and weave as if it had just been fired.

Kinetic Coil attention getter
For those not old enough to remember..... back in the 70's a popular fad were these waving hands people would put in their car windows. As the car bee-bopped along down the road, the hand would wave at all the passerby's.
I though it would be cool to revive and revise that fad applying it to our hobby.
SO I cranked up the old 3d printer and this is what I came up with.
Real attention getter and surely will lead from the "whats that in your window?" initial question to hopefully gaining access to some new hunting sites:)

A unique display stand for showing off those great dug coins. Design inspiration came from a concentric metal detecting coil, a ships binnacle and John Deville encouraging me to get off my butt and make something new. I appreciate great design input from other people like John who are as passionate about the hobby as I am. Check out John's youtube channel to see hardcore in action. This display stand will allow the coin to be looked at from both sides and different angle without touching the coin. It is still a concept and I have not tried to print it yet.
Metal Detecting Themed Business Card Holder.
Current design takes too long to print making it expensive.
If enough people would like one, I will work on the design to get the print time reduced to something reasonable.

Just a test to see how delicate of a part I could make.
